ProClothing and Waterfront Manufacturing have been working together since 2000 when owners John Groombridge of ProClothing and Alan Jenkinson of Waterfront Manufacturing were factory unit neighbours in Orpington. Together we have been sharing our expertise and helping each other with embroidery production ever since.
In 2018 John and Alan discussed John’s impending retirement and agreed that as John approached retirement, Alan would service the ProClothing customer base for John; taking care of the larger runs initially and more recently the smaller runs up to his retirement in the summer of 2019.
To date the transition has been seamless but we thought that, now we’re all settled, we should inform all customers of the change & to give you our joint assurance that John is still on hand to speak to customers that would like to discuss this change with him & from that point Alan will take care of the day to day running of the business, receiving repeat customer orders, developing the business with existing and new customers and planning production to ensure the same level of service everyone has been used to for the past 20+ years.
Waterfront Manufacturing, just like ProClothing, are a small business; Alan heads the company with the help of Tom, who manages the processing of orders and production. Joanna runs our embroidery studio with the help of Sharon, Ricky looks after goods in and out.
Over the years Waterfront has developed their own embroidery studio to the point that by 2017 we had expanded our operation to a state-of-the-art facility running 5 embroidery machines, with a total of 17 heads. This enables us to produce both large and small runs of embroidered clothing & caps and in addition to this we also have the capability of producing vinyl printed garments & promotional items such as umbrellas, mugs, water bottles & pens.
2019 has also seen us switch to 100% renewable energy for our business, our energy is provided by Ecotricity who have their own network of wind farms & solar farms – we’re doing our best to be as eco friendly as possible!
We understand that there will be a number of customers who won’t be aware of this change, so Alan & John are available to answer any questions you may have plus Alan & Tom are looking forward to discussing and quoting for either repeat business or to discuss and quote for something new if you’re looking to refresh your garments or logo.
We want you to be as happy dealing with us, as the new owners of ProClothing, as you have been with John over the years. John will still be around, albeit taking a back seat, to help us ensure that the transition is smooth. Quality & continuity of service are of the upmost importance to us all & we are confident that you will be happy with us as we move the business forward.
ProClothing will soon have a simple new web site www.proclothing.co.uk & new email address: firstname.lastname@example.org and in the short term you can still contact us on either email@example.com for Alan or firstname.lastname@example.org for John. This email address will be phased out but John will be setting up an auto forward and we’ll continue to advise people of our updated details as we move over to just one contact email address.
Waterfront Manufacturing have been working on a very comprehensive new web site where we will be demonstrating our huge range of tailoring, leisurewear and PPE. We’ll let you know when the new site launches but for the time being you can still view a majority of the leisurewear & work wear range at www.proclothing.co.uk and if there’s anything that you need that you can’t see then please speak to us.
Phone numbers: You can still call us on the existing ProClothing land line: 020 8302 7373 & we also have a freephone number that you can call us on: 08000 192 125
